Camu camu (Myrciaria dubia) is a shrub tree that thrives in hard-to-reach areas of rainforests along the Amazon, especially in Peru and Brazil. It usually grows to a height of 3 to 6 meters and has white flowers. From December to April, it bears fruits that are slightly larger than cherries.

Camu camu fruits are characterized by a scarlet red color, with yellow pulp inside. They are highly valued as they are considered one of the richest sources of vitamin C.
