Pink Rock Rose (Cistus incanus) is a member of the rock rose family, found throughout the entire Mediterranean region, where there is plenty of sun. It can grow up to 1 meter in height and is recognizable by its delicately pink flowers, which bloom in the spring months.

Although characteristic of most of southern Europe, it originates from Greece, where it has been used since around 400 BC. A myth from ancient Greece states that the gods on Mount Olympus assigned rock rose the task of caring for wounded warriors, which the goddesses did not agree with. They believed that such a beautiful flower should care for female beauty, so they left the decision to the rockrose, which decided to do both. 

In ancient Greece, cistus was used to produce resin that was traded as far as Egypt and Sudan. Later, it gained popularity in the form of herbal tea, often served to guests as a gesture of hospitality.
