Organic Fo-Ti (He Shou Wu) is a perennial climber originating from Asia, more precisely from China. The most useful part of the plant is the root, which is usually reddish-brown and has been used in Chinese tradition for centuries. The plant is recognizable by its heart-shaped leaves on long stalks, with small, white, or pink flowers, from which tiny nuts rich in seeds later develop.

In Latin, the plant is called Poligonum multiflorum, but it is also known as Fleeceflower root, which refers directly to its root. The name He Shou Wu comes from the legend of Mr He, who was the first to consume the root of this plant and to feel all its remarkable effects. In Slovenia, Fo-Ti is found in herbal literature under the name 'večcvetni dresnik'.
