Maitake (Grifola frondosa) is an edible mushroom originating from Japan, also thriving in China and North America, commonly found under oaks, beeches, or maples.
The story behind its name is intriguing; maitake in Japanese means “dancing mushroom”, as it was so valuable that people danced with joy upon finding it in the wild.
While it may be a novelty for some in our region, its natural benefits have been valued for centuries in Chinese and Japanese folk traditions. It offers a wide range of uses – in both culinary applications and herbalism.
In addition to the beneficial properties this mushroom provides, it also impresses with its delicate, earthy, and slightly nutty flavour.
It boasts a high content of dietary fibre and protein – 37 g of fibre and 21.9 g of protein per 100 g of product, making it an excellent addition for preparing balanced meals.
A major advantage of Organic Maitake powder from the MycoWay® brand is its production method, as it is 100% organic, and only the fruiting bodies are used to produce the powder.
This part of the mushroom contains the highest concentration of bioactive compounds, which is also an excellent indicator of quality.
Maitake powder is truly versatile and is recommended for everyone, particularly those who frequently experience low energy, seek support during colder months, consume a lot of fatty foods, or have issues with glucose absorption.
Due to its powdered form, it can be used in various ways – mixed into water, tea, coffee, cocoa, yoghurt, juice, smoothies, or similar.
The product is a dietary supplement.
Recommended daily dose: 2–4 g (1 teaspoon = approx. 2 g).
We recommend starting with half the dose for the first few days and gradually increasing to the recommended amount. If possible, take half the dose in the morning and half in the evening. Mix the powder into a liquid such as water, tea, coffee, cocoa, yoghurt, juice, smoothies, or similar. Stir well and drink in small sips as soon as possible. Consume during a meal or at least half an hour after a meal. Take the mushroom continuously for at least three to four weeks, then take a break. Repeat the course twice a year, preferably in autumn and spring. Concurrent intake of vitamin C is recommended.
