Shea Butter – the care your body needs.

Shea butter is obtained from the seeds of the Vitellaria paradoxa tree, better known as the shea tree. It grows mainly in West and Central Africa, in countries such as Burkina Faso, Ghana, Mali, Nigeria, and Senegal.

The shea tree has an exceptionally long lifespan – it can live for several hundred years and only begins to bear fruit after around 20 years. The fruits of the shea tree resemble nuts.

In Africa, shea butter has been used for centuries as a natural skin cream, for hair care, protection against the sun and wind, and for soothing minor wounds and irritations. It is also valued as a dietary ingredient.

Due to the presence of natural waxes, natural discolouration may appear on the surface of the butter, which does not affect the quality of the product. Individuals allergic to latex should use the product with caution, as the nuts contain a natural latex-like substance called gutta-percha.
